Oh, by the way
This weekend (Saturday) we're playing for my sister-in-law's birthday. It also happens to mark one year for my cats, and since they were about a year old when I adopted them, I guess this makes it their 2 year birthday. So, happy birthday to my sister-in-law and my two cats!
Just a couple notes from the last few weeks... We played for a lovely wedding on October 23rd in Topanga Canyon. The bride and groom were both dazzling and a grand time was had by all. Steve wasn't with us this weekend, as he was attending the piper's Tionol and soaking up more pipe tunes. Paulette Gershen joined us on pennywhistle which was a fine treat; we haven't had the pleasure of her company in over a year and it was great to play with her again. Looking forward to having her with us again soon.
And the following weekend was another wedding, with John Kevany joining us again on guitar. A wandering minstrel affair at a country club. I think the high point of the evening was when one of the groomsmen picked up a bodhran and jammed with us for a set. Gotta love audience participation!
So now we've come to November, endured an election fraught with tension, and are puttering around in the aftermath. It's definitely high time for some jigs and reels...
